ARTful Saturdays

Albuquerque artists and patrons look forward every month to ARTScrawlABQ‘s First Friday ARTScrawl (5-8 pm) and ARTful Saturday (third Saturday from 1-4 pm). While First Friday ARTScrawls are city-wide events. Wabi-Sabi

How the Japanese concept of “wabi-sabi” (侘寂) is reflected on the door to my studio and in my artwork.

When the painter finished painting our studio, we discovered that he had left off the handle to our exterior door. In fact, he hadn’t even painted it to match. We decided to reattach it without painting it in celebration of the Japanese aesthetic known as “wabi-sabi.”  Continue reading “Wabi-Sabi”

Good Company

A poem inspired by our booth neighbors at the Southwest Arts Festival and these Minnesotans’ wonder at the strange “pine trees” in Indio, CA.

One of the things Richard and I love about traveling to art shows is meeting other artists. Our biooth neighbors in Indio were Erik Sauliltis and Georgia of Danceprints.
